Dinner with the girls.

Headed down to Deck 84 in Delray last night for dinner and drinks. When going to Delray, be careful about where you go if you are on  particular budget restraints, as Delray can get pricey (quick).

Tuesdays at Deck 84 is Unlimited Taco night for $13. The girls I went with last night drink Michelob Ultra and, outside of Happy Hour, run you $5 a bottle. For the tacos, they serve you 3 at a time (1 of each unless you ask for a particular selection, and there are 3 types) and then if you order more, they come 2 at a time.

I, of course, tried all 3 plus 4 more...needless to say it was decent. They have a chicken, shredded pork shoulder, and a steak taco. The chicken was my least favorite, it was dry and chunky which made eating it a little more difficult. The pork taco had pickled red onions on top along with a few drops of pineapple, delicious. The steak tacos were good but overall, I don't know that I would write home about them.

Overall, between the ambiance of being on the water and dining with friends, I had a great time. They have a slightly tilted menu towards seafood but do serve burgers, salads, etc. (And as a side note, I highly recommend ordering their guacamole). The other perk to being out on the deck is that they provide treats and water bowls if you bring your dog.

The Office.

I went to The Office today in Delray Beach, which happens to be my food haven. Gotta check it out, but be careful what you order.

For starters, I ordered a few Blue Moons (of course with an orange slice). And for food, I ordered their Chicken Shu Mai Dumplings. They came in little wonton wrappers and had chicken bites inside the wrappers. On the side, they had sweetened soy sauce. You get a serving of 6, but for Happy Hour...it is definitely worth checking out.

New Lake Worth restaurant.

Update:

This place has since closed. Sorry folks.

Lake Worth has a new food spot called Pietro's Plump Tomato. Tried the Chicken Mozz Panini and Eva had the Pesto Pasta.
My Panini was delicious, the mozz was fresh, the chicken was moist and not dry at all, bread was nice and crisp, and of course the pesto was the star of the dish.
The huge pluses to the restaurant was its location, for Lake Worth to not have a place that caters to vegans, foodies, and people who like to eat organic...Pietro's is a great addition.
The inside is cute and does have a big screen tv, but because the restaurant is downtown, if you can, sit outside and enjoy.

Dinner with the girls.

Went to The Living Room with the girls (B, Kirsten, and Nicole). They had never been, so it was great to share the experience. Plus they had some live music so that made it even better.

Appetizers: Duck drummettes and the Brie cheese plate. Both have a plum topping, and the drummettes have a little kick to their plum sauce. Delicious!

Kirsten: Crab mac n cheese with cheese on top and covered with panko bread crumbs.

Nicole: She started out with a Red Velvet flavored wine, and ordered a spinach salad with grilled chicken.

B: Vindaloo curry with chicken.

Me: Mexican salad with tortilla inspired chips, avocado dressing and grilled chicken.

They just switched out their menu and have taken off some items like the Stuffed Chicken, BLT salad, steak items, etc. But they have thrown in some humor and added a name twist to the wine selections...check it out!

Dinner at Gratify.

Took Mama, Miss Sylvia, Eva, and Emily to my West Palm spot, Gratify. A great thing to do here is to order a bunch of small plates and share amongst the group, and seeing as how we had 5 people with 5 different ideas...it was a perfect way to dine.

We had the Risotto Balls, Veggie Burgers, Palm Cakes, Bacon Mac n Cheese, and Chicken Meatballs. The Risotto Balls are delicious--Risotto with cheese and it's coated and deep fried with a nice Aioli on the side. I would recommend if you want the Veggie Burgers and the Palm Cakes...pick 1. The only difference is the Veggie Burgers have buns and the Palm Cakes are just the cakes. The Chicken Meatballs were good, although I think out of everything, they may have been my least favorite...but not by much. We also had the Bacon Truffle Mac n Cheese, although I didn't partake. (They are known for their homemade bacon).

Overall, it was delicious and they are also well known for their eclectic beer selections. Check them out! Plus, afterwards you can go check out the new pier on the water.

My take on Chicken Parm.

Took chicken breast and seasoned them and cooked them on the stove for about 5 mins on each side.

Chopped up garlic, sliced onions, put in mushrooms, and chopped up yellow squash...put in crockpot with the chicken and chopped tomatoes. Cooked on high for an hr., added tomato paste.

Cooked on low for 5 hrs., although, I would recommend cooking for 4-4.5 instead...it was still moist but I would take it out a bit earlier.

Rather than cooking pasta, I cooked up spaghetti squash. Cut it in half, put rind side up in a bed of water...cooked at 375 degrees for 45 mins-1 hr. Take it out when it is soft to touch and is not firm. Use a fork and spoon to pull out strands. It is a great alternative to pasta.

Bbq chicken salad

Arugala, semi-homemade bb sauce, chicken, corn, salt cured salt pork (amazing).
